Period and listed homes deserve more than a quick coat of paint. We decorate them sympathetically — preparing original cornicing, panelling, doors and sash windows by hand, and finishing in heritage colours from ranges such as Farrow & Ball, Little Greene and Mylands. Where a solid-wall or lime surface needs to breathe, we specify breathable paints so the fabric of the building stays healthy.

The photos above are from a recent period-home redecoration in Surrey — heritage shades across reception rooms and bedrooms, panelled staircases and balustrades repainted, and original built-in joinery and doors brought back to life. Heritage Colours, Done Properly
Getting the colour right is everything in a period room. We work with heritage ranges such as Farrow & Ball, Little Greene and Mylands, and bring samples so you can judge each shade in the building's own light before committing.
Cornicing, mouldings and panelling are cut in by hand so the original detail reads cleanly, and finishes are chosen to suit how each room is used.
Repair & Conserve Original Features
Period character lives in the details — staircases and balustrades, panelled doors, sash windows, skirtings and built-in joinery. Rather than tear these out, we repair, make good and redecorate them.
Original timber and plaster are prepared carefully and protected, so the features that give the house its character are conserved for the long term.
Sympathetic to Listed & Conservation-Area Homes
Listed buildings are protected, and some changes — including certain repairs and redecoration — can require listed building consent from the local authority, while conservation areas may carry their own controls. We work sympathetically and keep to like-for-like finishes.
We're happy to liaise with your conservation officer, but we can't give legal or consent guarantees — so please check with your council where you're unsure before work begins.
Areas We Cover
We carry out period property decorating across Surrey — Guildford, Woking, Godalming, Weybridge, Farnham, Epsom and the surrounding towns and villages — as well as Richmond and south-west London.
